How money works on MyPlace
We built MyPlace as a platform to help you share with your friends and trusted networks. Sharing means different things for different people. We call this exchange.
- Every place has a default exchange type on their profile that's visible to the network
- Exchange amounts (aka rates) are shared by the host only after a request to stay at their place has been made
How it works:
- You send a request to stay at someone's place for certain dates
- If the dates are available, the host sends you back an offer that includes the total exchange amount (if any)
- Stays are not confirmed until both parties come to an agreement, and the host confirms the stay in app. See Confirming your stay for more info.
Lots of people on MyPlace are sharing their places with their friends for free. Some are asking for a contribution to cover things like cleaning, others need to cover their costs.
